On September 9, 2020, "Moria" the infamous refugee camp on the island of Lesbos burned down. In the days that followed, people tried to get to the capital of the island. More then 12,000 people were prevented by the police and military and detained on the main street without food, drink or medical care for several days until the successor camp "Kara Tepe" was ready.
